Marfleet Ward Update: Operation Topaz Success & Winter Policing Priorities |
||
|
To the Residents of Marfleet Ward,
We are writing to provide you with an update on recent policing activities in your area over the past couple of months, specifically reviewing the Halloween and Bonfire Night period, as well as our ongoing work to tackle drug crime and anti-social behaviour.
Operation Topaz: Halloween & Bonfire Night We are pleased to report that Operation TOPAZ, our dedicated response to anti-social behaviour (ASB) during the Halloween and Bonfire Night period, was highly successful. The operation ran smoothly with no major issues reported in the area. A key highlight was the planned event at Craven Park, which saw approximately 4,000 people in attendance. We are delighted to confirm that the entire event passed without incident and was a huge success. In the lead-up to these events, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team also visited schools across the ward. Officers delivered presentations to students highlighting the risks associated with fireworks and the serious consequences of related offences.
Tackling Drug Crime (OP Kinetic) In conjunction with our colleagues from OP Kinetic, we have executed multiple drug warrants within the Marfleet ward. These were successful warrants that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis from one specific address, leading to an arrest for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. We remain committed to removing drugs from our streets and will continue to act on intelligence provided by the community.
Action on Repeat Offenders We are continuing to take a robust stance against those who persistently cause harm in our neighbourhood. Multiple repeat offenders within the ward have recently been arrested, charged, and issued with Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) to prevent further offending.
Looking Ahead: Operation Yuletide With the Christmas holiday period fast approaching, we are now ramping up Operation Yuletide. Over the coming weeks, you will see an increased focus on retail crime and high-visibility patrols in key footfall hotspots to ensure residents and businesses remain safe during the festive season.
